One Patient. One Extraordinary Journey. 60 sessions of Perseverance.
Some healing journeys are measured in days. Others are measured in determination, patience, and the willingness to keep going. After prostate cancer treatment and radiation, this patient faced a difficult series of complications including radiation cystitis.
His journey ultimately led him to Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) — committing to 60 sessions of treatment involving prolonged periods of oxygen under pressure. Over the course of his treatment, he began noting gradual improvement and alleviation of symptoms associated with his radiation-related complications. His story is a powerful reminder that when the road to healing becomes complicated, there may be additional treatment options worth exploring.
HBOT may be used as part of the treatment plan for patients experiencing certain radiation-related injuries, non-healing wounds, compromised tissue, and other complex conditions. If you or someone you know is struggling with a condition that may benefit from HBOT, talk with our team to learn whether hyperbaric therapy may be appropriate.
Complications such as:
- Chronic Diabetic non-healing wounds of the Lower extremities
- Chronic refractory osteomyelitis
- Radiation injuries to the soft tissue and bone (commonly seen of the bladder and jaw)
- Compromised skin grafts & skin flaps
